While it may sound like a term that comes from an episode of the Jetsons, the term Dobotics simply means Domestic Robotics. It is the technical term for what we call home automation.
Often, when people consider home automation, they think of the devices that we purchase that have robotics or smart technology within them. Home automation actually refers to the system that connects these devices to you and gives you the ability to control them.
Home Automation allows control of devices in your home from your mobile device anywhere in the world. It describes homes in which systems like lights, appliances, electrical outlets, heating, and cooling systems are hooked up to a remote network. From a home security standpoint, this also can include your alarm system, doors and windows, locks, smoke detectors, surveillance cameras, and any other sensors that you would like to link to it.
Imagine if your home could turn on the lights for you when you unlock your doors, know when you’re on your way home, and automatically heat or cool your home to your preferred temperature, or even automatically lock your doors for you when you leave for the day.
